What to do in Bariloche Argentina?

Colonia Suiza is located about 15 miles from City Center. It’s worth a visit to learn about the story of how Swiss immigrants arrived to Patagonia. If you go to Colonia Suiza it is guaranteed you are going to eat delicious food. We recommend you to visit this place on Wednesdays or Sundays in order to eat Curanto, a typical food. Besides, you can enjoy the most famous fast food in Argentina: choripán! Fondues and waffles are a good option too. The handmade beer is recommended here. Bariloche is a great place to enjoy with kids. If you go to Colonia Suiza, you can visit two parks: Nahuelito (about dinosaurs) and Aldea Duende (about elfs).

Llao Llao Park. It’s located in Circuito Chico. There are plenty of paths where you can discover Arrayanes (the typical tree in Patagonia lands) and even a hidden lake and some beaches. You can catch a boat in Puerto Pañuelo to get to Victoria Island and Arrayanes Forest.

Panoramic Point. Also in Circuito Chico, al Panoramic Point you’ll admire the lovely views of the Llao Llao peninsula and surrounding lakes. 

Civic City Center is the heart of the city. It is visited by a great number of tourists everyday. It is worth a visit where you can take good pictures and walk around buying chocolates. 

 

The hills 

Cerro Catedral. It’s the most appropriate place if you’d like to go skiing. There are plenty of hotels at the bottom as well as snow clothing stores, ski equipment and restaurants.

Cerro Otto. You can get there by cable car. When you get to the top you can enjoy the most beautiful panoramic view of Bariloche, it’s really a breathtaking landscape. Cerro Otto is a recreation center for family tourism where fun, adventure, culture and nature converge. 

Cerro Campanario. You can enjoy a walk to get to the top or you can go up in a chairlift. Enjoy a privileged view of the surroundings of Bariloche from a 3,444 foot-high hill on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi.

Then you have some other options, for example at the bottom of Cerro Catedral and it’s the most suitable place if you are planning to spend your holidays in this ski center.
